How Jambo Dragon Delivers Hands-On Assists
Jambo Dragon’s unique approach to hands-on assists is a blend of their extensive training in anatomy, biomechanics, and somatic therapies, combined with their years of experience as a Forrest Yoga Guardian. They approach each assist with the following principles:
-
Grounding & Intentionality: Every assist begins with a grounding presence. Jambo ensures their own body is stable, breath is steady, and intent is clear before touching a student. This allows the assist to be purposeful and safe.
-
Anatomically Precise: Jambo integrates their expertise in anatomy to ensure each assist aligns with the student’s unique structure. They emphasize joint safety, proper muscle activation, and the facilitation of deep, therapeutic stretches.
-
Empowerment Through Touch: Rather than forcing a student deeper into a pose, Jambo’s assists are about inviting students into their bodies, encouraging self-discovery and ownership of their practice.
-
Somatic Sensitivity: Jambo’s touch is tuned into the emotional layers of the body. They skilfully guide students through moments of vulnerability or tension, helping them release what no longer serves them.
-
Adaptive & Inclusive: No two bodies are the same. Jambo is adept at reading body language and tailoring assists to meet the needs of each individual, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
Through their signature style, Jambo creates a safe and supportive environment where teachers can confidently learn to assist, and students can deepen their connection to their bodies. This CET is an opportunity to learn from one of the most skilled practitioners in the field, and to bring a new level of depth and care to your teaching.
